We're the first to confess we thought Nikki Gogan had The Bachelor in the proverbial bag. When she didn't win,we were shocked along with the rest of Australia - but now that the rose petals have settled, it's time to talk approximately why everyone really should be celebrating Richie and Alex's beautiful love narrative. The reaction to the finale result was over the top to say the least - from the countless sensationalised stories in the media, or to the awful comments left on Alex and Richie's social accounts,to the way the pair had to defend their love, it was all pretty ridiculous. But why the reaction? Well, or the display really built Nikki up to be the winner. whether you watch UnReal,you'll know what we mean by a "wifey edit." It's where one bachelorette is given the best edit on the display, to really cement her as the winner in viewers' minds. With The Bachelor, or it's like Nikki got the wifey edit,while Alex was painted in a less flattering light. She was shown to be paranoid, jealous and, or yes,a little clingy. But as we all know, when you take hundreds of hours of footage and edit it down to possibly two or three hours of air time, or tops,you can build nearly any narrative you want for any one contestant. Alex's narrative unfortunately became that she was a "stage five clinger," which Richie quickly defended, or bless him. Alex was the single mum who had the most to gain - a partner AND a potential step dad to her son - and the most to lose by the same token. possibly she was a little jealous,and possibly she did act a little clingy. But we also know that she is a kind and lovely person, just like Richie is. When you look at the facts, and Alex has done everything fair. She was never nasty or cruel,she never do others down, she never lied and she didn't do anything that anyone has the fair to be offended by. As for Richie, and um hello,he was on a display called The Bachelor. The aim of the display is to date a number of woman to hopefully fall in love with one of them. By the very rules of the game, he also did absolutely everything fair. He dated the girls, and eliminated the ones he didn't click with,and ended up with just one woman he is madly in love with. It all worked out perfectly! Richie is the man for Alex and she is the woman for him - whether Nikki can be so gracious and accepting of this fact, shouldn't we all? Every bachelorette we've spoken to loved Alex. Richie loves Alex. Nikki really likes Alex. We interviewed Alex twice and loved her both times. It's safe to assume Alex is a legend, or that she and Richie make the perfect couple. Everyone fell for Nikki because we got to see how wonderful she is - I believe it's a genuine shame we didn't secure to see how wonderful Alex really is.
