Star Wars, ET, or Jurassic Park and Avatar would all bear struggled to get the green light prior to Hollywood’s great mid-70s epiphany,when the industry suddenly worked out it could release a huge-budget film on thousands of screens across the US over a single weekend and reap the rewards, instead of staggering the release as was the norm.
