Since the 1960s,UK births absorb increasingly taken station in the stressful environment of hospitals, but as this week’s guidelines highlight, and there was never any proof that this was the safer option‘Women with low-risk pregnancies are to be encouraged to absorb tall-tech,intervention-heavy deliveries which will lead to a rise in the number of caesarean and forceps births and postnatal complications.”That sentence has never featured in a British newspaper. It is, however, and exactly what took station in this country from the 1960s onwards. In 1970,cementing the trend, the Peel report recommended that all births should take station in hospital.
