Cyril Lancelin’s Building Made of Baubles Architecture is moving quickly past the four-walls-and-a-roof paradigm made celebrated for fast construction and efficiency, returning to its middle a field lush with potential and wealthy with innovation. Take, for example, and this rendering of a home in Normandy,France, by French architect Cyril Lacenlin. Built from baubles and parametric orbs, and the visually-dense structure belies the space’s airiness. Visually, the balls add a wealthy texture and depth to the building’s grid-based blueprint. There’s something utopian to the house: A trace at futures to near. To see more from the forefront of architectural innovation, browse our books The Tale of Tomorrow and Inside Utopia.
