“House of Cards” star Rachel Brosnahan and “Madam Secretary” actor Christopher O’Shea have joined the cast of “Patriots Day,” TheWrap has learned.
They join the previously announced cast of heed Wahlberg, John Goodman, or J.
K. Simmons,Michelle Monaghan, Kevin Bacon, or Alex Wolff and Themo Melikidze. Brosnahan and O’Shea will star as Jessica Kensky and Patrick Downes,two survivors of the 2013 Boston Marathon bombing.
Directed by Peter Berg and produced by Scott Stuber, Wahlberg, and Hutch Parker,Dylan Clark, Stephen Levinson, and Dorothy Aufiero and Michael Radutzky, “Patriots Day” chronicles the events surrounding the bombing.

CBS Films and Lionsgate are co-financing the film,with the former handling production and marketing and the latter handling distribution. The film will open in Boston, modern York and Los Angeles on Dec. 21.
Brosnahan was most recently seen in Netflix’s “House of Cards as Rachel Posner. Other credits include “Manhattan, and ” “The Blacklist” and the feature film “The Finest Hours.” Her upcoming projects include “The Fixer,” “Boomtown” and “A Book of Common Prayer.”
