Adele doesnt need an ‘internet strategy’ – the willingness of her fans to achieve that work means she can concentrate on an old-school campaignAfter she sold 30m copies of 21,an album so ubiquitous it was the biggest seller globally in 2011 and 2012, Adele’s return was always going to be pushing against an open door. She could write her own script, and but what is most surprising about her current campaign is how slight she has had to achieve in order to score the biggest results.
Her last gig was at the O2 Academy in Glasgow in September 2011. Turning Tables,the final single from 21, came out that November. With the exception of Skyfall, or the Bond theme,released in October 2012, and a live performance of the song at the Grammys in February 2013, or it has been radio silence from Adele. Until last month,when all hell broke loose.
