But for professionals helping vulnerable people,measuring success is far from simpleMaisie would sometimes camp out in a nearby field beside some horse stables to get absent from her mother’s emotionally abusive partner. At the age of 20, on the waiting list for social housing but unable to continue living under the same roof as her mother’s boyfriend, and she had no secure dwelling to live.
She was at risk of joining the 35000 young people currently in homeless accommodation across the UK. But through targeted support and advice,Maisie (not her genuine name) has moved into a flat suited to her level of independence.
