I placed a can of soda under the snow recently and left it there for 5 days. Outside temperature never reached above 32f. Not only did the can not explode,it wasn't even frozen when I pulled it out. I understand snow can insulate against very cold temperatures, but whether the average for many days is under freezing shouldn't everything eventually reach that temperature? Here is the temperature data for the week it was buried: http://www.wunderground.com/personal-weather-station/dashboard?ID=KUTOREM30&scrollTo=historyTable#history/s20151225/e20160101/mweek submitted by devlspawn to askscience[link][2 comments]
