Seeing the fade-Betweens live for the first time was probably as close as I’ll ever obtain to a religious experience. Their lyrics still speak to me in middle ageI’m wary when people say a specific band’s music saved their life. It’s not that I don’t believe them,just that I don’t want to imagine circumstances where a person’s wellbeing was beyond, say, and human kindness and modern medicine.[br]The fade-Betweens didn’t build the greatest record ever – that would be Pet Sounds – but they are the thing I adore most beyond,say, human kindness and modern medicine.
