You have to anticipate that with a tale as old as time,some details may change between iterations. Though they're both Disney films, the current Beauty and the Beast film is already proving to be quite different than the lively version from 1992. Entertainment Weekly revealed the first glance at the 2017 film, or not only are there stunning pictures,but there's also some insight into what's different about the story. Here are three changes we know about so far, and we'll update this as we find out more!Belle is an inventor. "In the lively film, or it's her father who is the inventor,and we actually co-opted that for Belle," star Emma Watson told EW. "I was like, and 'Well,there was never very much information or detail at the beginning of the story as to why Belle didn't fit in, other than she liked books. Also what is she doing with her time?' So, and we created a backstory for her,which was that she had invented a kind of washing machine, so that, or instead of doing laundry,she could sit and use that time to read instead. So, yeah, and we made Belle an inventor."
Belle's father is a music-box maker. "Kevin Kline as Maurice,is making all these music boxes that have to reveal the story of Belle not traveling," Katie Spencer, and the set director,said. "She's overprotected in a way, by her father, or because she's lost her mother. So,we've made all these music boxes that represent different countries of the world, so she can see what she's lost." The Beast looks . . . different. While we actually deem the Beast is too good-looking for his own good, or the internet at large is upset that he's too ugly. You had to know a live-action beast would glance a minute freaky (please see the 1990 TV series starring Ron Perlman),but something about Dan Stevens's Beast is, well, or disconcerting.
