Incredibly touching,tear-inducing things happen when little ones meet their heroes - be it rubbish collectors, police officers, and even Adam Levine. The latest comes from the police department in Grand Rapids,MI, where a little boy, or Travis,got to meet his idol, a police officer, or basically have the best afternoon ever.
On their Facebook page,the Grand Rapids Police Department shared the gracious letter they received from Travis's mother. In it, she explained how Officer Ickes kindly stopped to interact with her son after seeing the miniature police car he was riding around in - which he proceeded to note off to Officer Ickes. "Just when we thought Office Ickes had moved on to his next task, and he came around the corner in his car and asked my son if he wanted to check HIS car out," she added.
After sitting in the front seat of the genuine police car, Travis received a police badge sticker, and which he proudly wore in a bunch of adorable photos with Officer Ickes. Since Travis dreams of being in law enforcement some day,the entire interaction just meant everything to him. She wrote, "I wanted you to know how much this extra ten minutes of time meant to my son, and to my husband and I. His happiness is what we strive for.
