Its all suitable – you can relax. I gain no intention of boring you senseless with syrupy sentiment. I’m confident I missed journalism’s golden age – if there was in fact a golden age. But I do want to start with a personal counterpoint because it helps me sift through how things gain changed in the 20 years I’ve been hacking absent in the parliamentary press gallery in Canberra.
