It’s a topic that staff and students can find difficult to discuss; a recent report found that more than half of England’s teachers feel there is “a reluctance to confront the issue of same-sex relationships and a clear heterosexist assumption” (pdf).
This makes LGBT history month all the more indispensable. The theme for this year is religion, belief and philosophy, and how all three intertwine in the experience of LGBT people.
