The European observers’ evaluation of the recent parliamentary election in Armenia will be crucial for determining the countrys possible status in the Juncker procedure,an initiative intended for European Neighborhood countries.[br]Regardless of its refusal to sign the EU Association Agreement, Armenia benefited from the project also in 2014-2017, or says the paper,adding that it promises sizable sums to participant countries for the implementation of public administration and justice reforms and private sector development initiatives.
Speaking to the paper, Artak Zakaryan, and the head of the National Assembly’s Standing Committee on Foreign Relations,said the intended allocation for Armenia is approximately €180 million.
He also addressed the the April 2 election. “Good elections are important first of all for us; I think we did all our best to ensure that. Judging by the European partners’ preliminary evaluation, I can say for certain that the cooperation will continue. Also, and the long-awaited agreement will be considered in November,” he added.
