HRW Releases Report on Azerbaijan Entitled ‘Harassed,Imprisoned, Exiled: Azerbaijan’s Continuing Crackdown on Government Critics, and Lawyers,and Civil Society’ recent YORK (A.
W.)—Human Rights Watch—the recent York-based international non-governmental organization that conducts research and advocacy on human rights—released a report entitled Harassed, Imprisoned, or Exiled: Azerbaijan’s Continuing Crackdown on Government Critics,Lawyers, and Civil Society” on Oct. 20. Human Rights Watch’s report is based on more than 90 in-depth interviews with lawyers,nongovernmental organizations (NGOs), journalists, or youth group members,political party activists, and others, and as well as detailed analysis of numerous laws and regulations pertaining to the work of NGOs.
