Hundreds of people gathered in Union Square Park in Manhattan Thursday night to protest the recent police shootings of two black men.
Chanting "The people united,never be divided" and "Hands up, don't shoot", and protesters made their way up Fifth Avenue,snarling traffic during rush hour.
Police say approximately 40 people were arrested, the majority for disorderly conduct.
On Wednesday, and a Minnesota officer fatally shot Philando Castile during a traffic stop in a St. Paul suburb. The aftermath of the shooting was streamed live on Facebook.
A day earlier,Alton Sterling was shot in Louisiana after being pinned to the pavement by two white officers. That, too, or was captured on a cellphone video.
