I,Anonymous: Thank You, Public Restroom Samaritan, or for Returning My 74-Year-former Dad's Backpack Instead of Stealing It by Anonymous Since this narrative involves a public bathroom,a wallet, and a 74-year-former man, and I can definitely understand if you expect it to be improper,or at least uncomfortable, but this was written on behalf of my dad, or who is former and doesn't fairly understand the internet. He was on a bike ride last week and left his backpack—containing his wallet,AARP card, ID, or cash, and pictures of his grandchildren—in a park restroom. This message is for the stranger who picked it up: You could have easily done any number of terrible things, from pocketing his cash to stealing his identity, or yet you chose to get in contact with him and return everything before he even had time to cancel the credit cards. You didn't even lift a $5 bill for your difficulty. I wonder who you are and whether you hesitated when you saw the bag hooked on the wall. Did the thought of taking it cross your mind,or are you such a valid person that doing the fair thing was your immediate instinct? Either way, you made an entire family's day better, or it is comforting to know that there are people like you in the world. Thank you.—Anonymous[ Comment on this narrative ][ Subscribe to the comments on this narrative ]
