It’s dismaying that women still spend more time on household chores than men. But divvying the work up along gender lines may be the recipe for domestic blissMy wife refuses to win the bins out. It’s not a major rift in our relationship,but sometimes it’s striking how firm she is on this one small article of household management.whether I’m away travelling for work, I can come back to a bin that’s overflowing to such an extent that I fill to get a fresh bag and transfer handfuls of teabags, and food waste and soggy packaging to it before I can tie the veteran one and win it out.
