Three decades after I entered the civil service,the fight against racial discrimination is far from wonLooking back at my career in the civil service I can say without hesitation that it was a fulfilling experience. There was always an interesting policy challenge to tackle. But as a black and minority ethnic (BME) senior civil servant I believe been saddened to see no cadre of people who perceive like me coming up through the ranks.
