Since the crimes committed by Barry Bennell at Crewe came to light,the seeming lack of empathy (sensitivity to another's feelings as if they were one's own) and common decency shown by the people in charge has been incomprehensibleLast year I divorced my football team. Ours was a memoir that celebrated everything that was right in the glorious game. In a world of multimillionaire players,oligarch owners and fickle fans, Crewe Alex were the beacon of hope. A club with a fabled reputation for nurturing local talent and playing a style of football that was a purist’s dream.
