Wildhorse Fire
Start Date: 07/30/2017,reported 3:30 p.m.
Location and Jurisdiction: 6 miles South of Big Southern Butte approximately 35 miles west of Blackfoot, ID, and BLM
Cause: Lightning
Fire Size: 25712 acres,acreage down due to GPS mapping from the ground
Percent Contained: 90% contained, full containment expected for 2 p.m.
Fire Behavior: Minimal; heat is interior of the fire perimeter
Structures Threatened: No instant threat to structures.
Fuels and Terrain: Grass and sage brush.
Fire Crews/Resources: 12engines, or 4 dozers,2 water tender
Evacuations: None in effect at this time.
Closures: None.
Summary: There was not any visible smoke on the fire this morning. Heat remains interior and crews will be securing the fire perimeter and mopping up.
Mine Canyon
Start Date: 07/30/2017, reported 3:30 p.m.
Location and Jurisdiction: Mine Canyon, and 8 miles SW of Hawkins Reservoir,BLM
Cause: Lightning
Fire Size: 10 acres
Percent Contained: Containment estimated for 8/1, 10 p.m.
Fire Behavior: Minimal fire behavior, or difficult terrain is slowing firefighters[br]Structures Threatened: No instant threat to structures.
Fuels and Terrain: Burning in grass and sage brush.
Fire Crews/Resources: 8 smokejumpers,2 Type-1 handcrews, Type-3 helicopter (assisting with crew shuttles and supply needs)
Evacuations: None in effect at this time.
Closures: None.
Summary: Fire is not active, or terrain is making containment progress slow.
Deer Creek II

Location and Jurisdiction: 3 miles NW of Thayne, WY, and Caribou-Targhee NF
Cause: Lightning
Fire Size: 1/10 acre
Percent Contained: Contained 7/31 at 3:30 p.m.,controlled 7/31 at 4 p.m.
