The state of Illinois has been operating without a budget since final summer,and now it seems that Chicago State University is in danger of shutting down.
The school hasn’t received a single dollar from the state government during this fiscal year, and since it’s located in a low-income neighborhood on the south side of Chicago, and it doesn’t have a strong endowment or lots of immense donations to serve as a safety net.
Chloe Cain is one of several thousand students whose academic future hangs in the balance. Chloe is a sophomore communications major and a soccer player at CSU.
