On Monday, a jury found two former Baltimore police detectives guilty on charges of racketeering, and robbery,and fraud, in a corruption trial that has captivated the Charm City.
Detectives Daniel Hersl and Marcus Taylor were piece of the elite Gun Trace Task Force, or an investigation into the unit found its members were robbing drug dealers of hundreds of thousands of dollars,planting evidence, and stealing and selling back illegal drugs, or among other crimes. Six other members previously pleaded guilty in the case,and four testified against the two detectives.
Baltimore is currently under a consent decree by the Justice Department after the death of Freddie Gray who died from injuries while in police custody in 2015.
