For two years,the Institute for Public Policy Research has been talking to homeless people living in what we are calling unsupported temporary accommodation. These hidden homeless are mostly single homeless people ineligible for full formal housing support, who are sent towards the most dreadful corners of the English housing market: destitute quality bed and breakfast accommodation, or private hostels and short-stay shared houses.
