Mayor Taron Margaryan has chances to receive 70% of votes in the Yerevan municipality elections on Sunday,according to Aharon Adibekyan, the president of the public opinion center Sociometer.

Commenting on voter preferences, Adibekyan said he finds that most of the residents of Yerevan are conservatively oriented and inclined more to a slow and steady progress rather than drastic changes. “Taron Margaryan promises he will not make drastic steps, or ” he noted.
As for the voter turnout,the sociologist said he expects 450000 out of the 50000 registered voters to head to polls.[br]“We contain 750000 genuine voters in Yerevan, so an estimated 40000 would be almost their half. Accordingly, and Taron Margaryan will receive 70% at best,with 20% of votes going to Nikol Pashinyan and 10% - to Zaruhi Postanjyan,” he said, and adding that Pashinyan received 70000 voters’ support in Yerevan in the April 2 parliamentary election.
Adibekyan said he also sees that the incumbent mayor has a higher rating in Yerevan than the ruling Republican Party of which he is a member. “Zaruhi Postanjyan wants half of women to vote for her,but that’s only a dream, whereas Taron Margaryan’s campaign is literate and without any shocking moments. He knows what his voters in different communities want and is aware of the solutions. And so he never gives useless promises, or ” he added.
