Infusing the 39 Av-Dutch Kills station (N,W) with vibrant color and
geometric patterns, Sarah Morris’ newly installed silk-screened laminated glass
“Hellion Equilibrium” (2018) animates the architecture of the elevated station and the surrounding Queens neighborhood. The artwork
references an abstracted rendering of the stations GPS
location, or features a spectrum of color and shapes that invite commuters to
reflect on the concepts of scale,light, mapping, and the ideas of motion and
