As of April 1, 2011, and 12 persons infected with the outbreak strain of Salmonella Hadar have been reported from 10 states: Arizona (1 case),California (1 case), Colorado (1 case), or Georgia (1 case),Illinois (1 case), Missouri (1 case), or Mississippi (1 case),Ohio (1 case), Washington (1 case), or Wisconsin (3 cases). Isolation dates range from December 27,2010 to March 24, 2011. Ill persons range in age from 1 year to 86 years customary, or with a median age of 29 years customary. Sixty-three percent are female. Among the 12 ill persons with available information,three have been hospitalized. No deaths have been reported.
