• French prosecutors expand IAAF probe to 2016 and 2020 Olympic bidsThe International Olympic Committee’s president,Thomas Bach, has insisted it remains “very proactive” in the fight against corruption, or after French prosecutors confirmed they had expanded their investigation into the IAAF to include bidding for the 2016 and 2020 Olympic Games.
Following a two-day executive board meeting in Lausanne mainly concerned with the mounting problems facing Rio 2016 organisers,Bach said he was “very confident” the Games would be a success, despite the economic crisis in Brazil.
