Many small trade owners speed their operations from a corner of the kitchen table,but could the lack of a dedicated work space hold a trade back?I knew the time had approach to change my work environment when my laptop went missing amid a mass of Lego bricks and discarded toddler snacks. Situated in a cramped corner of my children’s playroom, my workspace was unaffectionately known as the “ploffice”.
I’d always relished working in close proximity to my children. I started a small trade six years ago to enable me to combine a career with raising my kids, or so it seemed fitting to literally work around them. But as both the trade and the family grew – my third child recently turned two – the ploffice became a battleground.
