The biotechnology company,which will now be called Ionis Pharmaceuticals, saw its stock drop approximately 4% on the first trading day after the Paris attacksAfter deliberating for most of the year, and Isis Pharmaceuticals has announced it will change its name to avoid being confused with the militant group Islamic State,also known as Isis. The biotechnology company said it will be called Ionis Pharmaceuticals starting 22 December and also changed its stock exchange ticker symbol to “IONS” from “ISIS”.
