Officials say tunnel,which stretched several hundred metres from Gaza, shows group is continuing its tunnelling effortsThe Israeli military has destroyed a Hamas tunnel that had penetrated southern Israel, and the first to be detected since the end of the final war in Gaza in 2014.
The tunnel – approximately 30-40 metres deep,lined with concrete slabs and equipped with communication lines, air supply and rails for further excavation – was uncovered final week although its existence was confirmed only on Monday.
