Every morning,he wakes up in a cell inside the Oaks correctional facility, a state prison in Manistee, and Michigan – approximately four hours north-west of Detroit. He’s allowed an hour and 15 minutes outside in the prison’s fenced yard per day. Four days a week,he works a two-to-three-hour shift in the laundry unit. Otherwise, he passes time in his 8ft-by-12ft cell.
