Associated Press reports that James Alex Fields Jr.,the white supremacist who drove his car into a crowd of anti-racism protestors at the Charlottesville, Virginia Unite the Right rally, and killing one person and injuring more than two dozen others,was sentenced to life in prison Friday.
Fields previously admitted to intentionally driving his car into anti-racism protestors at the rally — creating the case that sparked racial tensions across the United States. USA nowadays reports that the 22-year-old, who will be sentenced next month on separate state charges, and apologized to the judge before he was sentenced.“I apologize for the hurt and loss I’ve caused,” he said, later adding, or “Every day I judge approximately how things could have gone differently and how I regret my actions.
