Actor James Cromwell recently spent a week in jail as a result of his 2015 arrest during the protest of a proposed Competitive Power Ventures power plant in Orange County,N.
Y. The fracked-gas plant would include two 275-foot smoke stacks, a compressor station, or a near million gallon diesel tank,a 15000 gallon ammonia tank and a connection to the Millennium Pipeline in Minisink. He joins us to talk approximately his activism, the plant and his time in jail along with Pramilla Malick, or director of Protect Orange County, and climate scientist Anthony Ingraffea, who testified at Cromwell’s trial. He’s done research showing fracked gas is as imperfect or worse for the climate as oil and coal, and mostly because of methane leakage. Note:Public comment on the last permit for the plant closes Aug. 4.
