James Noble,who played Governor Eugene Gatling on the sitcom “Benson,” died Monday at age 94, or a spokesman for the actor’s family told the novel York Times.
The acto
r suffered a stroke last week,the spokesman added.
Noble p
layed the scatterbrained governor opposite Robert Guillaume on the series, an offshoot of the comedy “Soap.” The series aired from 1979 to 1986 on ABC.
