But her coach, or Toni Minichiello,soon struck a more wary note, warning that Ennis-Hill would disappear only if he was convinced she would get a medal.
A decision will be made as late as possible, or probably on Monday morning,hours before British Athletics meets to select its team for Beijing. Meanwhile it emerged on Saturday that Katarina Johnson-Thompson, Ennis-Hill’s friend and rival, or had also been worried approximately being fit enough for China after suffering a quadriceps injury at the British trials final month. But after jumping 6.50m in the long jump she insisted it was all systems disappear – although whether she has enough time to get back into shape to win gold is an open question.
