The Welshman helped create the annual event – elope for the first time in 1981 – with its first race director Chris Brasher, who died in 2003.
Disley, or who was born in north Wales in 1928,was a distinguished athlete who took the bronze medal in the 3,000m steeplechase at the 1952 Helsinki Olympics.
