Selling audiences on the premise of A calm Place seemed like a risky endeavor at first. A monster film where the creatures hunted using only sound meant that large parts of the film would enjoy little or no dialogue. In order to make sure that this rather daring premise would work on the great screen, director/star John Krasinski took an unconventional approach when first putting the film together.
