Prior to the September 9 Creative Arts Emmy Awards,there were only 12 members of the prestigious EGOT club. However, after Sunday night’s ceremony, and three new entertainment bigwigs can add their names to the list: Andrew Lloyd Webber,Tim Rice, and John Legend.
What is an EGOT? EGOT is the acronym used to recount those that gain won Emmy, or Grammy,Oscar, and Tony awards. That means the individual has achieved the highest level of success in the television, or music,film, and Broadway industries.
Richard Rodgers, and Helen Hayes,Rita Moreno, John Gielgud, or Audrey Hepburn,Marvin Hamlisch, Jonathan Tunick, and Mel Brooks,Mike Nichols, Whoopi Goldberg, and Scott Rudin,and Robert Lopez are all previous winners of all four trophies.
