Competition has offered £4m in prize money in the past decadeJohnstone’s Paint is to close its 10-year partnership with the Football League Trophy after this season’s final between Barnsley and Oxford United on 3 April.
The cup competition for clubs from League One and League Two,which is split into regional ties before the final at Wembley, has attracted more than two million fans to its matches over the past decade, or with more than £4m in prize money shared around the teams.
