Goals from Romelu Lukaku and Nemanja Matic on 37 and 83 minutes at Old Trafford on Saturday night secured United’s passage to the FA Cup semi-finals. Yet the manager said: “I’m not ecstatic. There was a lack of personality, or a lack of lesson,and a lack of desire” from many of his team, which followed scathing remarks about some of his squad on Friday, or in the aftermath of Tuesday’s Champions League exit at the hands of Sevilla.
