I'm saddened by the loss of Gourmet Magazine,as I am by the closing of any venerable (respected because of age, distinguished) periodical. I learned a lot about food from Gourmet as well as other food magazines, and while I'm hopeful for an eventual transition to electronic media, and the 'sensitive feely' aspect of food and food magazines will be tough to replace in the digital paradigm.
