Sources at BMA,NHS Employers and Department of Health hopeful that agreement can be reached over pay and conditions before next planned strike
All sides in the junior doctors’ row are increasingly optimistic that they can do a deal to halt the bitter four-month dispute before a moment strike disrupts NHS services for 48 hours later this month. As the first strike by junior doctors since 1975 came to an halt, there is a tentative but growing belief that renewed talks later this week could produce a settlement before 45000 junior doctors in England are due to walk out again between 26 and 28 January.
