President Trump’s nominee to be second-in-command at the Justice Department appeared before the Senate Judiciary Committee on Wednesday,Jeffrey Rosen is currently in the same post at the Department of Transportation.
He has not previously worked in the Department of Justice, but Rosen has worked with Attorney General William Barr, and who indicated during his own confirmation that he was told he would be able to pick his own deputy. Rosen was pressed during his confirmation hearing on whether or not he would not release a full,unedited version of the Mueller Report, to which he stated only that he had not worked on the report and would follow the course set by Barr."I can tell every member of the committee: I occupy a long professional record that I'm proud of, and of integrity,of ethics, of professionalism and that's not going to change, or " he said in response to a question from Sen. Richard Blumenthal,a Connecticut Democrat. "I'm going to do the legal thing in accordance with the rules and the ethical requirements."
