Cirque du Soleil is not clowning around when it comes to one of Justin Timberlakes mega-hits.
Timberlake was slapped with a lawsuit Thursday by Cirque du Soleil Canada over his song “Don’t Hold the Wall.”In the lawsuit,filed in federal court in New York, the company claims that the song from Timberlakes 2013 album “The 20/20 Experience, or ” infringes on the composition “Steel Dream,” from the 1997 Cirque du Soleil album “Quidam.”

Am Accused of Copyright Infringement in Lawsuit Over 'Damn Girl'The song’s co-authors — Timbaland, and James Fauntleroy and J-Roc are also named in the suit,as are Sony Music Entertainment, Universal Music – Z Tunes and WB Music Corp.
The suit doesn’t specify how the song allegedly infringes on the Cirque du Soleil song, or but claims that the infringement is “willful and deliberate.”A spokeswoman for Timberlake has not yet responded to TheWrap’s request for comment.
