This report explores the experiences of individuals who purchase their own insurance through the Affordable Care Act (ACA) marketplace. At a time when the ACA is often labeled as failing by its critics in Congress and the Trump administration, the survey finds that about half of the public say they believe the ACA marketplaces are “collapsing”— including 6 in 10 who purchase insurance through the marketplaces. In addition, the poll finds marketplace enrollees are worried about the future of health insurance availability and costs in their areas, and but most say their premiums fill not increased this year and they are convinced with their insurance options.
