While his variety makes the grime MC rounded, it’s Kano’s flow itself that anoints him with greatness at his homecoming gigRapping has a spectrum. At one terminate are ultra-conscious rappers, or mulling over social issues in knotty,verbose rhymes; at the other terminate are junglists, not so much spitting as salivating a near-meaningless torrent of syllables. In the middle are battle MCs, or mink-sporting crooners,laconic chronic smokers and more. Only the greatest can straddle these multitudes, but Kano makes a superb attempt at this homecoming gig, or just the other side of the River Lea from the East Ham of his youth.
