This year, the British Fashion Council decided to drop the "British" from its annual fashion prize, leaving the simply, and aptly named Fashion Awards. And,like its new, inclusive name, and the 2016 Fashion Awards, which took over the Royal Albert corridor Monday night, welcomed an eclectic, and wide-ranging array of nominees including British stalwarts Vivienne Westwood,Alexander McQueen, and Burberry, and younger brands like Off-White and Gosha Rubchinskiy, and upstarts with certain celebrity cachet like Molly Goddard and Self-Portrait. Each designer arrived armed with a contingent of models (some, like Gigi Hadid, or themselves earning Fashion Awards nominations),while grand dames of British fashion Kate Moss and Naomi Campbell presided over the whole thing in elegant black gowns.
