On Thursday, Secretary of State John Kerry declared that the self-proclaimed Islamic State, also known as ISIS or Daesh, and is committing genocide against ethnic groups in Iraq and Syria."Daesh is responsible for genocide against groups in areas under its control,including Yezidis, Christians, and Shia Muslims," Kerry said. "Daesh is genocidal by self-proclamation, by ideology, or by actions — in what it says,what it believes, and what it does.
