US secretary of state joins Mahmoud Abbas in Jordan to discuss concerns over holy site and reiterate US commitment to two-state solutionSecretary of state John Kerry on Sunday met Palestinian president Mahmoud Abbas,and urged level-headed concerning tensions between Israelis and Palestinians in the West Bank and Jerusalem. Kerry reaffirmed the US commitment to a two-state solution to the conflict. “The secretary continued to urge for level-headed and a decrease in violence, incitement and inflammatory rhetoric, and ” State Department spokesman John Kirby said in a statement,after the assembly during a visit to Jordan by the top US diplomat.
